This homemade Korean Banana Milk Recipe is a healthier, vegan and dairy free version of the classic Korean Banana Milk.
Binggrare banana milk was a treat I had every so often when I was a kid. My mom would take us to H-mart and treat my sisters and I to this creamy delicious banana flavoured milk. I don’t know why it took me this long to try and make a vegan banana milk!
What is Korean Banana Milk?
As special as it sounds, Korean Banana milk is just a korean milk drink that tastes like bananas. The most common brand you’ll see or have probably seen is the one by Binggrae in a yellow box. Aswell, Binggrae produces strawberry, coffee and melon flavoured milks.
What does Korean Banana Milk Taste Like?
Well, as the name implies… it tastes like bananas. A smooth, creamy & refreshing milk with banana flavour!
Where to this Special Banana Flavoured Milk
Although I wouldn’t purchase them myself because they are not vegan, you can find them at Korean grocery stores. I *thought* most asian markets carried them but to my surprise, they don’t!
Ingredients to make Dairy Free Banana Milk
I haven’t had the OG Binggrae Korean Banana Milk since going vegan, but I’ve tried many combinations and ratios to make this homemade dairy free banana milk as close as possible. I didn’t want the texture to be a “Korean smoothie”, I wanted it to be a creamy dreamy drink. I’ve also had several people taste test this recipe and they’ve given this a thumbs up! The 4 ingredients you will need are:
- 1 very ripe, semi frozen banana
- 1 cup soy milk (you can use another non-dairy milk, but I found soy milk to be the best in flavour)
- 1 tbsp condensed coconut milk (or regular condensed milk, this make’s it extra thick n’ creamy)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp of banana extract, this is totally optional!
How to make Vegan Korean Banana Milk
Add all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. That’s it! Serve it up and enjoy.
Can you make this Banana Flavoured Milk ahead of time?
Yes.. ish? I think it’s best consumed as soon as its made because it does tend to change in colour and separate slightly. You can store it in the fridge (for no more than a day), but remember to give it a shake before consuming.

This is addictive!!! I didn’t have coconut condensed milk, but I added a scoop of collagen peptides, some maple syrup, and a pinch of salt. So delicious and creamy!
thank you 움짤
Ahh it’s been hard for me to find decent banana milk and I’ve made my own before but this one tastes almost exactly like a boxed refrigerated version I bought in Japan…so delicious! I did half cup almond milk and half cup soft tofu…I didn’t have soy milk. This was delicious!! So creamy! I did add the banana extract just because I love bananas 🍌
I’ve never had the og, but I was at the international market and intrigued by the cute packaging of Binggrae Korean Banana Milk , so I had to find an alternative recipe as a vegan to try out. This was delicious! And your childhood memories attached to it, made it all the sweeter. Thank you <3
